NDT Challenges in Gait Course

Workshop objectives:
- Identify components of typical gait.
- Demonstrate basic skill in analyzing atypical components of trunk, upper and lower extremity function, frequently associated with conditions of neurological dysfunction, during activities in standing and during gait.
- Demonstrate basic handling skills to enhance patient’s movement as related to his/her functional goals during standing and gait.

Interprofessional workshop on best practices for managing perceptual impairments post-stroke

Learning Objectives:
On completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the prevalence of perceptual impairments post-stroke (especially unilateral spatial neglect) and its impact on functional outcomes
- Understand the latest best practice guidelines for managing perceptual impairments post-stroke (assessment/treatment) and the various roles of the interdisciplinary team
- Understand the clinical applicability and psychometric properties of screening/assessment tools to evaluate perceptual impairments
- Understand existing gaps in best practices versus actual practices in managing perceptual impairments post-stroke
- Describe potential barriers and facilitators related to uptake of best practices for managing perceptual impairments (i.e. clinician and organizational characteristics)
